Most importantly let's start with the “WHY”, why Brungot Farms does Christmas Trees. 

People have many beliefs in what Christmas trees represent. These beliefs go back centuries!  

What does the Christmas tree represent for us? HOPE, PEACE, FAMILY, LOVE. 

When you walk in the front door after putting up your tree, and the aroma of that beautiful Christmas tree hits, what do you think, feel, or dream about? 

I’m certain there are some memories that come rushing in. They could be from your childhood, or even now that you’re a parent your children's childhood. I’m betting the stress of the day softens, you can see it on your face, as that smile takes over. 

This is why we do REAL Christmas trees. 

My desire for Christmas trees comes from those very same feelings, and I want to share that stress relief with anyone I can. I personally love the idea that my daughter Adaline has been asking all year, “Daddy when are the Christmas trees coming?” She loves them too, for reasons she doesn’t even understand yet. 

I really don’t want to stress you by explaining the economics that we are all feeling in our everyday lives. From buying groceries, gas for the car, eating out, well everywhere. Americans are getting pinched for their budget everywhere you turn. As a business we are no different. 

The hardest thing I do every year is price out Christmas trees. There is nobody giving us the prices that we have to charge, and the heartache of price/cost increases is always hard to deal with. As the prices go up, Americans are making choices, one is to go to an artificial Christmas tree. The stress of their finances out ways the benefit of a Real Christmas tree. 

I fully understand this! The hierarchy of needs says you have to be able to put food on your table, and keep a roof over your head. In 2021, the sale of Artificial Christmas trees surpassed the yearly sales of Real Christmas trees for the first time ever. Some look better than ever before, and the purchase of one helps your finances for years to come. 

I know as one small business I'm not going to be able to change that. However, I can do my part to try and prevent more families from having to do that. Remember unless you buy those artificial smell sticks to hang in your tree, it doesn’t smell like Christmas, and honestly it’s not going to be the same!

Since 2018, our costs for the under 8 foot Christmas trees is up 81%. Compared to inflation, that is up over 24%, and our prices have only increased 24%. I continue to focus on how to hold the prices where they are and absorb the cost increases every year, why? Well the more real trees we can get/keep into homes, the better Christmas memories for all of us!

These efforts are no different this year, but what excites me is that Brungot Farms has some new partners in trying to make this happen!
