HOPE: HELP OTHER PEOPLE EVERYDAY
HOPE for Food
New for 2018, HOPE for Food is a year-round effort to support non-profit efforts to provide families with an everyday essential: food on their table. Although we don’t just want food on the table, we want healthy, fresh and local food on families’ tables who need it most. To kick off this effort, we stopped by Hill Country Community ministries in January 2018 and dropped off our first check for the efforts, $5,000 To help them expand their Fresh Food For All program.
Here is a simple concept, let’s take out the processing, and just get to simple ingredients.
When asked about his vision for this new project at Brungot Farms, owner Aaron Brungot said:
”I believe in being real and transparent, so here is the real truth. When I took two years off after working 16 years in corporate America in 2014 and 2015, it was very eye-opening, and I realized there is so much more to live for. I don’t want to go to work every day, I want my days filled with working because I want to work. I have had this dream for a long time with Christmas trees, and the farm lifestyle. I grew up with these things in northern New Hampshire, and want to return to them and bring my family up in them in the future. We didn’t grow up with words like organic or sustainable, never mind things like paleo or vegan, we grew up with a simple word, FARM.
People ask me why I give so much away, time, products and financial resources that honestly, I am more grateful than I can ever explain with words. I have never hidden the fact that I grew up in a broken home. Did it suck? Oh yes. Here’s the thing, I can make it an excuse or I can make it a driving force behind my passion for change. I choose the ladder.”
This year, to match our $5,000 donation, we need to sell 1,000 of our Artisanal Farm Goods Box - Monthly Subscriptions! For a brand new program, that is a lofty goal!
Will you help us put 50,000 pounds of food for families in Central Texas for families? Yes, that’s right, Raising the $5,000 provides 50,000 pounds of food to families in need!
H.O.P.E. For Christmas
Previously called Operation Christmas Spirit, HOPE For Christmas has been around since before Brungot Farms began operations. Our Holiday efforts focus on making sure families in need, that want to have a Christmas tree in their home have that ability. In 2017 our goal was to raise funds for 50 families in our community. It was an honor and a thrill that with your help we were able to provide Christmas trees for 120 families!
In 2017, not only did we provide trees to families in Austin, Cedar Park, Leander, Round Rock, Georgetown and towns in between. We loaded up 28 Christmas trees, and headed for hurricane hit Houston, Texas!
Besides cash donations by customers, and sponsors, below are a few of the other efforts we have that support HOPE for Christmas.
Taking HOPE for Christmas one step further, we introduced Hope Wreaths. Sometimes families don’t have the space for a Christmas tree, but a wreath on the wall, or back of a door working just fine. With our Hope wreaths, when you buy a Hope Wreath, we provide a wreath to someone in need. Example, each year we head off to the Ronald McDonald house in Austin and hang 30 Hope wreaths on the families doors.
Magical Evening Cookie Decorating with Santa:
Each year, around the 2nd weekend in December, Santa Claus makes a special trip to join us at the YMCA for a Magical evening, where he hosts a cookie decorating party, or well it's grown so much in 2017 there were 4 parties!
Evening with Santa is our biggest fundraiser for HOPE for Christmas! Last year we were able to provide for 70 more families than we had for our goal. Join us for this fun evening, where half the fun is eating your work!
